Tingting Zhang

/biography

/bio

In 1985, I was born into a family full of love in the north of China. When I was young, I was really interested in Traditional Chinese Painting. Because of my interest in Chinese Painting and my travels all over the world, I became more interested in Design and changing spaces around me. After receiving a degree in Environmental Design, I worked as an Assistant Landscape Architect and earned my Landscape Architect license.  Eventually, I found that I wanted to pursue Interior Design because my designs would be sustained and protected from the elements. I recently graduated with a Master degree in Interior Architecture from the Academy of Art University.



As an interior designer, I have work experience in residential and retail design. In school, I have worked on both commercial and residential projects ranging from hospitality to a senior living facility. Before I moved to San Francisco, I worked for a Landscape Design firm to associate the Landscape architect utilized modeling. Use my design skills to built 3D modeling and drew perspective hand renderings, and also created presentation boards (pedestrian mall and residence community landscape design). In addition to my computer skills, I have been told that I am excellent in hand-rendering, sketching and painting.  Since graduation, I have been interning at De Sousa Hughes Showplace in the Textiles Department. I assist the Textile Librarians in everyday tasks which gives me the opportunity increase my knowledge of textiles and their end uses. By the way, I also do some graphic design as a freelance designer, such as logos, business cards and postcards.
